Sunday Meet at Civil Lines - for Kabab Evening
Lucknow eats slowly, and so do we. Every Sunday evening, a small table at Civil Lines fills up with people who'd rather talk over a plate of galouti than shout over music. We chase down the city's oldest kabab houses and its newest ones, trade notes on who still hand-grinds their spices, and always leave the last piece for whoever tells the best story that night. No reservations required — just an appetite and a willingness to share the naan.

I grew up three lanes from Tunday Kababi and spent most of my twenties convinced I knew this city's food. I didn't — I'd just never asked anyone to eat with me. This community started as four friends and a shared plate; it's grown because Lucknow's kabab culture was always meant to be eaten in company, not alone.
Every kabab has a story and every story deserves a full table to hear it.
